Making More Time
A lifestyle management company focused on helping older adults and individuals with chronic or terminal illness age in place.

How It All Began
Making More Time was founded in 2010 to support Heidi’s mom, Phyllis, with home care and non-medical needs. For Heidi and her family, it was essential that Phyllis maintain her independence in the place she felt most comfortable—her own home. Recognizing how costly nursing homes, memory care, and assisted living can be, Heidi set out to bring the most needed services directly to individuals where they feel safe, secure, and independent.

Making More Time became even more personal when Heidi’s husband was diagnosed with a rare form of early-onset dementia, Posterior Cortical Atrophy and Lewy Body Dementia. Shortly thereafter, both of her sisters began showing symptoms of the same genetic neurodegenerative disease that had affected their mother—ALSP (Adult-onset Leukoencephalopathy with Axonal Spheroids and Pigmented Glia).

Heidi walked alongside her sisters in their journeys—supporting her older sister and her young family, and providing full-time care for her twin sister so she could remain at home with her teenage son. Tragically, Heather passed away from ALSP at just 45, and ten months later Holly passed at 44.

Heidi’s husband continues to live at home. She has created a safe and enjoyable home environment allowing him to live life to the fullest. They spend the majority of their time in Melbourne, FL where her husband, John feels the most relaxed and comfortable.
